CONSTRUCTION PRODUCTION - SEPTEMBER 2023
In September 2023, the seasonally adjusted construction production index is estimated to grow by 0.2% compared to August. On average in the third quarter of 2023, construction production increased by 0.8% compared to the previous quarter. On a trend basis, the index adjusted for calendar effects (the calendar working days were 21 compared to 22 in September 2023) remains unchanged, while the raw index recorded a decline of 3.4%. On average for the first nine months of 2023, the index adjusted for calendar effects decreases by 2.0%, while the raw index decreases by 2.4%.
The comment
In September 2023, the seasonally adjusted construction production index increased for the second consecutive month in economic terms, resulting in growth also in the third quarter as a whole compared to the second.
In comparison with the previous year, the level of the adjusted index remains unchanged.
The overall change in production in construction, in the first nine months of 2023 as a whole, remains negative (-2.0% net of calendar effects).
