02.10.2023

Abstract: The purpose of this study is to investigate the factors affecting the SIB's decision of participating in startup competitions in Vietnam. Data was collected from 120 corporate managers of 120 SIBs in Vietnam. The outcomes of data processing using SPSS 20.0 software demonstrate that, in the following order of strength to weakness, 4 factors influence the decision to join: Perceived feasibility; Participation attitude in the competition; Participation support in the competition; and Competition features. The study also evaluated the differences in participation decisions according to three factors: Gender, Education level, and Prior participation experience, and came to the conclusion that there are no differences for these three factors. Finally, the study has made managerial recommendations to enhance competition quality and decision-making rates among participants in startup competitions in order to better satisfy the needs of business administrators.
